If you are a beginner, you'll love how simple it is to use this program
: you open the program, put a DVD into your disk drive and a blank disk
in your burner, and click on Start. The program takes over and does

If you are a more advanced user, you can
customize rather than go with the defaults, and use the screen shown below
to select some of the options; for example.
- You can preview the movie as well as the extras
and menus, and then decide which of those you want to include, or which
movie segments or TV episodes you want to include.
- You can select the audio track (e.g. English,
or French)
- You can select subtitles (e.g. French, or
Spanish).
- You can control the amount of compression used.
The less you compress, the better the quality. But you may want to
compress so you can get the whole movie onto one disk, and with a normal
one-and-a-half to two-hour movie, there's no noticeable loss in quality.
- You can - once you've done all the above -
store the presets and use the same presets for similar movies, or
different presets for different movies.
- You can make additional copies without
recopying the DVD.
- You can copy a movie to your hard drive. On a
laptop for example, you can copy a movie to the hard drive, then have
the kids play the movie in your car's back seat or on the plane while
you're traveling.
This package, which runs on
all Windows versions higher than Windows 95 (sorry, Mac users), will work
for movies in NTSC as well as in PAL format. It will copy multi-channel
audio (Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS), and it supports dual layer media. The
package also preserves the movie's aspect ratio, whether it is wide screen
or full screen.
The makers of this software, LG Software Innovations, provide some
of the best support available in the software industry. There's a good help
section, and they respond quickly and effectively to e-mails. Their service
is really well above normal, which helps make this package even more
attractive.
LG is always improving its various packages including this one,
and you get updates free of charge.
